OSA research is funded through a number of government and private agencies, including the National Science Foundation, the Leakey Foundation, the University of Pennsylvania, the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, and sometimes local government agencies in the country where the research takes place.
An essential part of our funding comes through individual donations from people who are interested in our work. This funding is important because it helps to pay for services or items that are normally not fundable from traditional sources, including travel or research funds to help students participating in our research projects. We accept donations made directly to the University of Pennsylvania, and in this way they are fully tax-deductible.
Donations can be made in two ways: 1. Checks. Please make checks payable to The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, include a note saying that you would like the donation to go toward Paleolithic Research, and send to Office of Development
2. Click here to go directly to Penn’s Giving website, where you can donate through your credit card. At Penn’s site, a. Select “Arts and Culture” from the General Area menu
With either method you will receive a letter of thanks from the Museum, along with a receipt for your tax records. We thank you for your both your interest in and support of in research on human evolution.
