Sloan Craven: Up Close and Personal

Affiliation: Washington State University

starting third year of graduate school in the fall; interest is PaleoIndians of the Western Stem Tradition

Favorite Pech pastime: drinking beer

Little known fact: he sails on the East Coast

Favorite saying: "There's nothing better than a flake."

Profile: Sloan's worked a lot in the USA, on projects in New York, Washington, Utah, and Nevada. This is his first time in France. He's played football and rugby, and actually likes that obscure sport, cricket (where did this tradition creep in?). His interest in PaleoIndians began during his undergraduate days and he's fond of saying that "the key to prehistory is in the stems." Sloan's M.A. thesis research is on the lithics from the Lind Coulee site, WA.
