Abri Peyrony - 2012

A short, 2.5 week season was conducted in September of this year to finish the current excavation project at Abri Peyrony. The main focus of this season was to excavate the fire feature on the lower terrace and to reach bedrock across the area opened initially in 2009.

These goals were achieved and currently the team is in the process of completing the analysis of the material recovered from these excavations. This includes an extensive lithics collection of over 6000 lithics, over 2200 bones, tens of pieces of manganese dioxide, and several potential bone tools.
